One of the reasons I want to start my own political party is that there are currently almost 300 million people in the US, about 128 million which are registered to vote. Now consider this. We only have two main political parties!! So that is about 64 million people per party. Do you think that is a true representation of the views of all 300 million people? Doubtful.

Remember the Presidential Election of 1992? There was a new Presidential Candidate by the name of Ross Perot. Ross Perot, in effect, started his own party. People were sick of the same old politics that had run Washington for the last 80 or so years. Ross Perot received almost 20 million votes. Bill Clinton, who won the election, received only 43% of the vote. In effect, 57% of the American people DID NOT want him to be President.

Unfortunately, Ross Perot turned out to be somewhat of a wacko. However, the idea of new political parties making a difference is worth looking into. Many people are upset with the way things run, but do they vote for change? No!

In following posts, I will explore some different democracies in the world and see what political parties they have to offer.
