Senator San Brownback, who is one of the Republican nominees for President, is proposing a new tax system. He proposes a new flat tax system which would be an alternative, not required. You could still pay your taxes the old fashioned way. The flat tax system could eliminated a lot of cheating on tax returns. But here is the problem. The people who normally cheat, or try to use every conceivable loophole would opt for the old system.
If Brownback really wants to take a stand, then he would say he would REQUIRE all taxpayers to use the flat tax system.
