Fred Thompson is already gaining in the polls. Last month, Fred was trailing Rudy Guiliani by seven percentage points. Now that spread is barely visible. I hope that Thompson is not gaining in the polls simply because he is an actor. Celebrities tend to gain popularity just because the are recognizable. It would be a shame if the American people voted for fame instead of for a decent, good candidate that will make a great President.

Unfortunately for Guiliani, some of his less then conservative views may land him in hot water with the right. He has certainly done a good job of explaining his views, but that might not count in the long run.
