Surprising instant it? New York Governor Elliot Spitzer has decided that he will not push granting driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. The public was definitely not in favor of this one and Spitzer has decided to back down. Of course, this does not solve the illegal immigration issue and I don’t think Congress will be doing anything about it in the near future. Their first plan, basically giving everyone amnesty and not focusing on the problems, went nowhere. Don’t look for any new ideas until after the 2008 election.
