Clinton vs. Obama

It looks like there might be two front runners for the Democratic Presidential nomination – Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Both have expressed interest in “exploring” a run for the Presidency. Do these two really differ? Well for the most part, they have voted 90% of the time with their Democratic counterparts in the Senate. It is the other 10% where you can see the difference in the two.
For example, Clinton opposed a federal funds for ethanol and Obama did not. Clinton, on the other hand, voted for expanding oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico and Obama voted against it.
They have differed on other votes and as we all know, the voting record will become very much an issue in the Presidential Primaries and elections. Maybe that is why only two Senators have moved directly from the Senate to become President. Although 13 other Senators have become President, they were not a Senator while running for office.
