The conventions are looming on the horizon and Obama is still ahead in the polling with a 49 percent to 38 percent lead. It is amazing that we are unable to elect a President in this country with more than 50 percent of the vote. Remember when Reagan won 51% of the popular vote in 1980 and then 58.8% of the popular vote in 1984. I don’t think that either candidate, Obama or McCain will garner over 50 percent of the popular vote. Why, because both candidates are flawed.

Obama, comes across as a roll-your-sleeves up kind of guy (no gold cufflinks for him on the campaign trail) yet is always hit hard when it comes to actual experience. McCain, has alienated a portion of the Republican Party and I am yet to be convinced that he can win them back. Of course, maybe I will just vote for Ralph Nader!
