Why I Won’t Vote for John McCain

With the Florida vote looming tomorrow and McCain and Romney in almost a dead heat for the win there, I thought I would list the reason why I won’t be voting for John McCain. I will vote with most of the rest of the nation on February 5th and it looks like I will be voting for Mitt Romney.

McCain- Feingold – The idea might have been good – campaign finance reform – but it ended up being a way to shut down private companies, organization and individuals from advertising within 30 days of an election. Way to shoot down our Constitutional rights.

McCain-Kennedy Immigration Bill – Good thing this didn’t pass. Basically a way to provide amnesty for millions of illegal aliens with no plan to stem the flood of illegals crossing into the United States.

McCain-Lieberman Climate Stewardship Act – Not passed, but again, what were they thinking? Let’s try and MAKE everyone cut down on greenhouse gas emissions by decree and hope better technology comes along. By the way, this passage of this bill would have probably cost the average American $600 a year, cost over 39,000 jobs and increased electricity and gasoline bills as well. (McCain did “pass” on the bill that was introduced this year.)

McCain is a war hero and deserves applaud for his years of service to his country. However, we need someone new, with fresher and better ideas than this.
