It was a disappointing night for Republicans. Those of us that truly believe in the true Republican principles. Now that John McCain looks like he might win the Republican nomination, I realize that a few of the strongest supporters of Republicanism may be baking down. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are sure to throw their support behind John McCain if he wins the nomination.

However, I will no longer vote Republican for the Party’s sake. I will no longer vote for a Republican who doesn’t hold fast to the Republican principles that I joined the Party for in the first place. Some pundits have said that the Republican party is changing. That it is moving more toward the middle. If that is the case I want out. I want a party that:

  • Believes in lower taxes.
  • Believes in legal immigration not amnesty and tightly controlled borders.
  • Believes in the rights of an unborn child.
  • Believes in less government, not more.
  • Believes in state’s rights.
  • Believes that laws should be made by legislatures, not by judges.
  • Believes in free speech.
  • Believes in national security and a strong America.
  • Believes that families are the cornerstone of our culture.
  • Believes in helping individuals fight poverty by moving off welfare roles.

If John McCain is the nominee for the Republican Party in 2008, I will NOT be voting for him. I will cast my vote elsewhere. I will no longer vote Republican for the Party’s sake.
