Obesity

Obesity is becoming a huge problem in the United States. In 2006, only 4 states had an obesity rate of less than 20%. Compare this to 1985 when there wasn’t a single state that had an obesity rate of over 14%.
Food has become a major source of pleasure in our society. Although you are constantly hearing about dieting plans and a href=”http://www.lab88.com/category/weight-loss-pills.asp”>weight loss pills, the obesity rate is not decreasing. Fast food has become a staple instead of a occasional treat. Schools are sometimes cutting exercise and gym classes altogether. We are much more involved in non physical activity such as television and video games.
When we elect a new president in 2008, we had better be certain that any health plan proposal is going to address such issues. Why? The fatter we become, the more health problems we get. The more health problems, the more health costs increase. Should healthier Americans have to pay for health care for those who are unwilling to take care of their health?
