Gasoline Prices on the Rise

Gasoline prices are on the rise again and may hit $4.00 per gallon. Edmunds recently tested six gas saving tips and found that four of the tips help you save on gas usage.
- Stop aggressive driving. Don’t accelerate fast and don’t pound on the breaks. You can save up to 37% and probably cause less accidents as well.
- Drive the speed limit. Driving too fast uses more gas. You can save up to 14%.
- Use the cruise control. This will save up to 14%.
- Don’t idle too long. If you are going to be stopped more than a minute, shut off the engine. This will save up to 19%
Some tips did not save any gas. Go ahead and drive with the air conditioning on and the windows up. Turning the air off and rolling down the windows did not help with savings. Make sure you keep your tires inflated at the proper level for safety reasons, but don’t expect this to help you save on gas.
Keep in mind that the internet and the telephone can be a big savings as well. Looking for a specific item, call or use the internet first before heading out to the store. You don’t need to visit offices to get life insurance quotes, make appointments or get postal rates. There is a lot that can be done right from your own home!
