At a recent dinner in Washington, Sarah Palin joked about Joe Biden’s hair loss. While some have said that Biden has undergone hair transplants and may have used shampoo for hair loss, Biden hair loss is typically for a man of 67 years of age. Palin joked that she was Vice President now: “I could be overseeing the signing of bailout checks and Vice President Biden could be on the road selling his book ‘Going Rogaine’.”

Palin was also able to make fun of herself by joking about the supposed $150,000 she spent on a new wardrobe during the campaign. She said she should have titled her book ‘How To Look Like a Million Bucks, For Only $150,000’.

After Barack Obama’s inauguration, President and Mrs. Bush flew back to their home in Midland, Texas. They have also bought a home near Dallas, where they plan to settle down. President Bush won’t be looking for any Austin jobs, but instead will probably write his memoirs and travel the country doing speaking engagements.

Personally, I would love to read his memoirs to get any insight into his Presidency and his thoughts behind certain decisions.

I did not vote for Obama because I do not like his politics, however, I am somewhat proud of this country for looking beyond race and voting in a man of color. Will this change race relations in this country? It might, but it will be a long time in coming. There will still be those who believe that a black man is not qualified to be President and there will be those who believe that Obama will somehow force equality on America.

I wish Obama the best of luck. This country is headed for even tougher economic times and he still has the Iraq war to deal with. There will be many whispering in his ear trying to pull him in different directions and hopefully he will make decisions based on what is best for the country as a WHOLE.

Would Obama create more jobs? Not according to Mitt Romney. Romney blames part of the economic downtown on the Democrats:

“What caused this downturn was profligate borrowing in the mortgage market. And who’s been pushing that? Democrats and a lot of Republicans. And then, when it came to regulate that borrowing, Republicans wanted to regulate it and reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Democrats said no, just hand out the money. That’s what caused this downturn.”

Of course, I wrote about this earlier and included an actual video of the Democrats saying that nothing was wrong with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Obama’s plan includes forcing small businesses to have “government-approved” health care for the employees and trying to unionize small businesses. Both of these could be a potential killer to small business. On the other hand, McCain wants to put into place a program that would allow individuals to purchase affordable health care for their families. He also want to lower taxes on small businesses. These businesses include family-owned business, franchises and home businesses (to name a few).

Mitt Romney sums it up this way:

“Barack Obama will kill millions of jobs in America; John McCain will create millions of jobs in America.”

Are you sick of hearing about Joe The Plumber? I’m not. I think it really drives home an issue. If you make over $250,000 in your business, no matter what your expenses, you will be paying more in taxes under Obama’s plan. A business bringing in that amount of money also has plenty of expenses. They need to pay salaries to their workers, buy supplies such as spring plungers, snakes and wrenches, pay for advertising and vehicles.

Don’t forget that Obama’s tax credits are simply a redistribution of wealth. Obama is a socialist and don’t be surprised if your tax money goes to those who pay no taxes at all and with a Democratic House and Senate, Obama’s plan will be realized.

I think I have made it know that I don’t like either of the “two party” candidates, so I am going with a third party this year, The Constitution Party. I am going to vote for a candidate that shares most of my views. I am sad to say that the Republican Party is becoming almost indistinguishable from the Democratic Party on increasing the size of government and pork spending.

I have advocated before for the elimination of the Department of Education and that is one of Baldwin’s goals as well. I can’t say that I agree 100% with his views, but after reading through the various platforms, his positions are the closest to mine.

If you think that you are voting for the candidate that shares your views, take this quiz and double check (you must have Microsoft Excel for the quiz to work). You may be surprised.

If Sarah Palin would have said the things that Biden says, she would be hammered by the media. Just another clue that the media is leaning to the left. By the end of the election, I might need more laptop memory to keep up with all the mistakes that he has made. Here are just a few:

Biden claims that “Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.” (meaning Obama). He also states that Obama won’t be able to do it alone and will need help.

In Ohio, Biden claimed that he and Obama did not support “clean coal” when Obama has clearly stated that the does.

Biden claimed that “FDR got on television and explained to the American people what happened” in 1929. However FDR was not President and there wasn’t any television.

In Baltimore Biden claimed “If you want to know where al-Qaida lives, you want to know where bin Laden is, come back to Afghanistan with me. Come back to the area where my helicopter was forced down with a three-star general and three senators at 10,500 feet in the middle of those mountains. I can tell you where they are.” Opps! According to John Kerry, the helicopter was forced down by a snowstorm.

Biden claims “Hope you won’t hold it against me, but I am a hard coal miner — anthracite coal, Scranton, Pennsylvania, that’s where I was born and raised.” However, his father owned a car dealership in Delaware and had worked with Biden’s Grandfather in the oil business.

In 2006, Biden stated, “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” Later he claimed it was just a commentary on the diversity of the area.

And my all time favorite:

“Look, John’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S.”

We have a radio host here in New Jersey, Jim Gearhart, who advocates G.R.I.P. What does G.R.I.P. stand for? “Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians”

Personally, I think Gearhart is right on. But many citizens of New Jersey just don’t get it. They are so afraid to vote anything other than party lines that they will continue to vote in the same politicians that they complain about daily.

Think about it. In July 2008, the United States Congress had an approval rating of 18%! At the same time, George W. Bush’s approval rating is 30%. Every where I go, I hear about how glad people are that George Bush is going to be out of office and yet these are the same people who will vote in the same old Congress!

If you think that the economy is bad, or that you don’t like the direction the country is going, or you are feed up with the pork and spending, then you need to vote out EVERY incumbent. Will some good go with the bad. Yes. But it sends a message. It sends the message that the next batch had better shape up or they will be voted out in the next round.

Do I think this will happen in November 2008? Probably not. We are not strong enough to look past party lines and do what is really best for this country and that is boot them all out.

Obama likes to claim that 95% of Americans will see a tax cut under his administration. Don’t hold your breathe. If you think that you will actually get more money in your pocket from your paycheck, you may have to think again. Obama’s plan involves “tax credits”. Here are the credits he plans to give:

- A $500 tax credit ($1,000 a couple) to “make work pay” that phases out at income of $75,000 for individuals and $150,000 per couple.

- A $4,000 tax credit for college tuition.

- A 10% mortgage interest tax credit (on top of the existing mortgage interest deduction and other housing subsidies).

- A “savings” tax credit of 50% up to $1,000.

- An expansion of the earned-income tax credit that would allow single workers to receive as much as $555 a year, up from $175 now, and give these workers up to $1,110 if they are paying child support.

- A child care credit of 50% up to $6,000 of expenses a year.

- A “clean car” tax credit of up to $7,000 on the purchase of certain vehicles.

Now here is the catch. You can earn these “credits” even is you pay NO INCOME TAX! So, if you are currently paying ZERO income tax, these rebates can be yours. Obama is simply redistributing your hard earned money. Even if you get some of the “credits” other taxes that you pay will be given to those that pay NO TAXES at all.

Take a look at this graph from the Wall Street Journal. Think your taxes will go down. Think again.

I didn’t even bother pulling up my tv lift cabinet to watch the last debate. The other two were boring enough! I learn nothing new from the debates, the candidates really don’t answer the questions and although they try to tell you they will solve all of the problems of the country, we get little details.

McCain seems to be losing ground, as I thought that he would. He is just not the right Republican candidate. Not that there really was one. Obama is going to win on promising change, but I see little change actually happening. He will not suddenly pull out of the war in Iraq and he won’t be able to solve the economic crisis overnight either. If he tries to put together a bunch of new government programs and raise taxes, I doubt he will be very popular.

But then again, it seems that everyone is looking for a free handout these days.
