Now I hear that the National Labor Relations Board, a federal agency, it telling Boeing, a private company, that they can not relocate some of their business to South Carolina. Why? The NLRB suggests that it might somehow violate worker’s rights.

Last night, President Obama announced the framework of a compromise that would extend the Bush tax cuts for all income levels in exchange for a 13-month extension of jobless benefits, as well as a payroll-tax holiday. ”Sympathetic as I am to those who prefer a fight over compromise, as much as the political wisdom may dictate fighting over solving problems, it would be the wrong thing to do,” Obama said. “The American people didn’t send us here to wage symbolic battles or win symbolic victories.”

The good news that came out today was that employers added 151,000 jobs in October, but the bad news is that the unemployment rate remains at 9.6%. Plus, there was 8,000 government jobs lost. Considering that 14.8 million people are unemployed, 151,000 looks like a drop in the ocean.

This bill brings the total direct federal spending on the economy to nearly $1.2 trillion since 2007. And, it may not be over yet. Even though the first stimulus package netted zero jobs but put the United States into further debt, Congress may try it again. That is, if they can keep their jobs come November!
