Young children will be arriving to the White House in January. Does this mean new swing sets for the White House Lawn? Probably not, but Obama's daughters, Malia, 10 and Sasha, 7 will be the youngest kids in the White House since Amy Carter. However, they are not the youngest kids to ever live at the White House.

You remember Hillary Clinton? Former Presidential Candidate and now nominee for Secretary of State in the Obama administration? During her campaign for President, Clinton couldn't help buy point out the rampant sexism against her. In fact, Bradley University professor emeritus Barbara Pendleton, reported:
The press has been brutal to Sen. Clinton. Consciously or not, many reporters, commentators and pundits appear to be unable to criticize her without dusting off their favorite sexist clichés, stereotypes and insults. Together they create an ... Read More

I wonder, after all the trouble he has had, if John Edwards is hoping that he will somehow get a coveted position in the Obama administration. Edwards, who earned all his millions from trying cerebral palsy cases, endorsed Obama after he dropped out of the race. Of course, shortly after that, his affair and love child with a staffer made headlines.
It is interesting that Washington is full of men and women who have made similar or even worse ... Read More

It is one for the textbooks. When Obama said "Change," I guess what he really meant was politics as usual. As Obama starts to name his Cabinet appointees, the names are looking very familiar. Many of them served in the Clinton Whitehouse.
And now he chooses Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. I wonder if she will have to run through sniper attacks in Bosnia? I find it interesting that the news and blogs are calling ... Read More

It is bound to be a sell-out, if you can call it that. Tickets for the inauguration of President-elect Obama are actually given away for free, but they have been spotted for sale on the internet for as much as $40,000. Over a million people could descend on Washington, DC on January 20, 2009 to see the first African-American sworn in as President. Of course, this is not the first time that some old white guy is sworn in ... Read More

President-elect Obama has decided to institute a public website - Change.gov. This website will keep Americans informed about new cabinet member choices before he becomes President and about pending legislation and Presidential decisions after he becomes President. Good idea? I think it is a fantastic idea for the 18-49 year old crowd who tends to use the internet for sources of information. Not only will information about Obama's Presidency be posted on the website, but supposedly, you ... Read More

It is rumored that Obama has chosen his Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel. Emanuel is currently a congressman from Illinois' 5th District. While Emanuel may be a bright man, he is certainly not known for mild manner behavior. According to a report in the Chicago Tribune in 2006:
In a world where congressmen refer to each other as “my distinguished colleague,” Emanuel, 46, is sometimes unable to get through a single sentence without several obscenities. His politics are centrist, ... Read More

I did not vote for Obama because I do not like his politics, however, I am somewhat proud of this country for looking beyond race and voting in a man of color. Will this change race relations in this country? It might, but it will be a long time in coming. There will still be those who believe that a black man is not qualified to be President and there will be those who believe that Obama will somehow ... Read More
