Whose To Blame for the Economy

Good thing George W. Bush hasn’t giving up wearing running shorts and going for a nice long run. It seems that he will have to run quite a distance to get away from the blame that Obama keeps heaping on him about the economy. While I don’t believe that Bush has zero blame, it is certainly time for Obama to “man up.” Start offering real solutions instead of blaming others. Here he is on August 30, 2010, placing blame again.

Golf is On The Agenda

While any previous Presidents may have been looking for a natural cure for hair loss or how much the presidency has aged them, President Obama is keeping his youthful appearance. This may be due to the fact as of November 2009 (just 11 months on the job), Obama has played 25 golf games. You might be thinking that this isn’t that many, but his predecessor, George W. Bush played 25 golf games in his entire two term presidency.

Bush decide to quit playing golf in August 2003:

I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.

Bush was sometmes criticized for playing golf, while Obama gets a free ticket.

Obama’s Budget Savings

I recently saw a post here that I found interesting. You need to watch the video as it explains Obama’s proposed budget cuts. The poster uses a stack on pennies to show visually what the savings will amount too.

In other words, saving 100 million dollars from a $3.5 trillion budget amounts to a person making $35,000 a year deciding that they need to save more money and cutting $1 from their budget.

State of the Union

I have given up watching most political speeches. They are better than sleeping pills for me. I would rather read the transcripts later and make my own opinion. Take for instance, Obama’s State of the Union address. It was constantly interrupted by clapping and standing and fawning, uggh!

The Constitution does require the President to give a State of the Union report to Congress from time to time. There is no set time table. And, it does not have to be a speech either. Thomas Jefferson preferred to give his State of the Union to Congress in written form. Bless you Thomas Jefferson!

Scott Baio Takes the Heat

Scott Baio, who posted this picture of Michelle Obama on his Twitter account, is taking the heat from liberals. While Baio didn’t claim that Michelle needed eye creams, he did post “WOW He wakes up to this every morning.”

Baio, who is being portrayed as a racist, has had death threats against him, his wife and infant child, posted on message boards. Yet, at the same time, Jennifer Lopez is allowed to call Sarah Palin a “crazy b*tch” during her appearance on the George Lopez show.

Keeping Fit – A Must as President

President Obama utilizes fitness equipment and a variety of fitness routines to keep in shape. This is a must as a President. The job can be both mentally and physically tiring and being fit helps to do the job better. President Obama’s workouts include playing basketball for 30 minutes or more, running or walking on a treadmill, riding a stationary bike and jogging.

Obama Furious Over Leaks

With President Obama’s approval rating dipping below 50%, problems with health care and the economy and now leaks about the Afghanistan war strategy, it looks like the President is going to need the use of a wrinkle treatment earlier than expected. It is often been said that the Presidency ages a person.

It seems that someone in the inner circle, leaked information about deliberations on the Afghanistan war strategy. The President told CBS News that the review involved life-and-death decisions.

For people to be releasing information during the course of deliberations, where we haven’t made final decisions yet, I think is not appropriate.

Obama considers the leak a firing offense.

After I wrote my post about the SNL sketch on President Obama and his zero accomplishments, the Nobel Peace Prize committee has the audacity to award Obama the Nobel Peace Prize. For what? Here are a few of the comments that I have heard over the last few days:

The nominations were due just 10 days after President Obama took office. I don’t think he accomplished any long standing peace treaties, or negotiations in that 10 day period.
Why don’t we just award Oscars to actors who we think will perform well in the coming year. Robert DeNiro is coming out with a new film which I am sure will be fantastic. Let’s just give him the Award now.
Based on astrological signs and numerology we can predict if a newborn will become a Harvard scholar. Award scholarships based on fortune telling instead of actual accomplishments.
I plan to invent the best acne treatment for teenagers and cure pimples as we know it. Won’t you preorder now?

A prize is not based on what you can accomplish, but what you HAVE accomplished.

Saturday Night Live Gets It Right

This is one of the funniest videos I have seen from Saturday Night Live. They are known for their political satire and this video about President Obama really hits hard. I am glad to see that they are willing to make fun of the left just as much as the right.

Obama Won’t Meet with Gibbons

Governor Gibbons of Nevada has requested a meeting with President Obama while the President is in down for a fundraiser for Senator Harry Reid. Obama has denied this request.

Gibbons wanted to discuss the economic difficulties that face the state’s tourism industry, including Vegas hotels and casinos. Gibbons stated:

“I am disappointed at the hypocrisy shown by this administration. President Obama is coming to Las Vegas later this month for a political fundraiser, but he will not help the struggling families in Las Vegas and Nevada who are out of work because of his reckless comments.”

Gibbons was referring to the comment by President Obama about trips to Las Vegas by companies who receive bailout money.

Gibbons, of course, is a Republican.
