There are a number of people in this country who would cut the military drastically and yet when the Federal Government wants to cut programs, they complain about loss of jobs. The military employs a large number of personnel including contractors. Some cities would be hit particularly hard. Take for instance Panama City, Florida. While tourism is a big part of their business and there are many Panama City beach hotels, Tyndall Air Force Base and Coastal Systems Station – Naval Surface Warfare Center play an important role in the economy of Panama City.

We shouldn’t just be focusing on cutting government, but on reducing waste and cutting areas that really are not essential to the economy or to this country.
