We Deserve It – Or Maybe Not

An email has been circulating around the internet claiming that an $85 Billion dollar bailout by the government would be better used by giving each adult 18 and older $425,000. Unfortunately, the numbers just don’t work out. The population estimate in 2007 was roughly 301,000,000 people. Eighty-five billion dollars would roughly translate into $282 for every man, woman and child. Lets take just the people over 18 years of age. Each person would still receive only $375.
Of course, the bailout is not $85 billion as the email states, but $700 billion. This still translate to roughly $3,500 per man, woman and child.
Instead, I propose that only those people who actual VOTE should get a piece of the pie. If you don’t care what direction this country is heading and you can’t find the time to vote, then you get NOTHING. In the last Presidential Election, 122,267,553 people voted. Each voter would get $5,725. I could go for that!

I sure could use the money. That idea sounds good to me.
