Alli May Cause Liver Problems

Many Americans would love to lose weight and they are constantly looking for weight loss pills that work. The FDA is currently looking into reports that the Alli, a popular weight loss remedy, may cause liver problems. As with any investigation of this type, the FDA must determine if the pill was taken responsibly and in the right dosage.
The FDA says that at this point, people taking Xenical or Alli should continue to do so. However, anyone showing symptoms commonly associated with liver problems, including weakness or fatigue, fever, jaundice, brown urine, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, light-colored stools, itching or loss of appetite, should consult with a physician.
The weight loss drug, orlistat, is marketed over the counter under the name Alli by GlaxoSmithKline and by Roche Laboratories under the name Xenical.
