And that is just what we will be getting, if the health fiasco bill passes. Yes, the passing of the health care reform bill would widen the role of the IRS. As it stands now, you will be required to purchase health insurance. Right now, most states do require you to buy insurance, for your vehicle. If you own a car, you need car insurance to drive. If you own an rv, you had better buy the required rv insurance before driving the vehicle.

However, you do have an option. Don’t drive or don’t own a car. It might not be the best option, but it is an option. With the health care reform bill, you do NOT have an option. You MUST have the required insurance, and if you don’t the IRS will come looking for you. If this health care bill becomes law, Americans will have to prove they have health insurance on their annual tax return. If they can not prove it, they have to pay a penalty to the IRS.

Of course, just as there are tax cheats, there will be health insurance cheats and in the long run I just don’t see this solving the health care problem in the United States.
