$4 Billion for Chrysler

The Federal Government sent Chrysler a $4 billion bridge loan to help it remain in operations. I am wondering when the government is going to send me money to help me with my car loan, mortgage and other bills that I have. As it is, I am thinking about getting some more car insurance quotes just so that I can lower my bills!
Chrysler Chief Executive Bob Nardelli stated that the money would “allow the company to continue an orderly restructuring, while pursuing our vision to build the fuel-efficient, high-quality cars and trucks people want to buy.” Nardelli is hoping that Congress will “loan” him an additional $3 billion.
If Chrysler hasn’t been able to compete and build fuel-efficient cars yet, what makes Congress think that they will be able to do this in the future?
