If you are a fan of the National Rifle Association, then yesterday you lost one of its best spokespersons - Charlton Heston. Heston died at his home at the age of 84. He revealed in 2002 that he was suffering from the early signs of Alzheimer’s. Heston is best known for his heroic roles including Moses, El Cid, Ben-Hur and Michaelangelo. His deep voice and charismatic acting will be missed. My fondest memory of Mr. Heston is seeing him in person, on stage, in the role of Macbeth in the Shakespeare play of the same name. He was excellent in the part and it will be a memory that I will not soon forget.
