New Jersey’s Next Governor – Cory Booker?

Cory Booker is the Mayor of Newark, one of the toughest cities in New Jersey. He is also may be New Jersey’s next Governor. Not possible you say? I will bet my closet full of diet supplement goodies that there is a good chance that he will be!

Right now the race would seem to be between Jon Corzine the incumbent Democrat whose approval rating is a dismal 40%, and Chris Christie the former US Attorney, Republican. The latest Rasmussen polls shows Christie 51%, Corzine 38%.

If the poll numbers for Corzine continue to rise, he may take a bullet for the Democratic party. Taking a bullet means suddenly being offered another position and bowing out allowing for another candidate to take his place.

One of my possible theories: Senator Lautenberg, who is 85 years old and who already retired once from the Senate (only to be called back to service when the Democrats needed to switch candidates), retires again before the election. Governor Corzine decides that New Jersey would be best served if he returns to the Senate and appoints himself to the vacant Senate Seat. Cory Booker, is called into action and replace Corzine as the Democratic candidate for Governor.

Cory verus Christie? No matter how bad this state gets with the corrupt antics and useless spending, New Jerseians will vote in a Democrat every time.
