Kids in the White House

Young children will be arriving to the White House in January. Does this mean new swing sets for the White House Lawn? Probably not, but Obama’s daughters, Malia, 10 and Sasha, 7 will be the youngest kids in the White House since Amy Carter. However, they are not the youngest kids to ever live at the White House.
John F. Kennedy, Jr. was born just before his father became President. President Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909) and his wife Edith raised six children there. The oldest was 16 and the youngest was 3 years old when the family moved in.
Esther Cleveland, second child of President Stephen Grover Cleveland and Frances Cornelia Folsom, was the only child of a president born in the White House. She was born on September 9, 1893, during Clevelands second stint in the White House. Other Presidents, have had grandchildren born in the White House.
