The Lincoln Bedroom

The Lincoln Bedroom was not always filled with bedroom furniture and bedding. In fact, it was the room President Lincoln used as his personal office and Cabinet room. During this time, the walls were filled with Civil War maps. It was here that Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863.
The room became a bedroom in 1902. It wasn’t named the Lincoln bedroom until 1945 when President and Mrs. Truman moved the bed where Willie Lincoln (age 11) died into the room. The bed is quite large and measures 8 feet long by six feet wide. It was purchased by Mary Todd Lincoln as part of her refurbishing of the White House.
Many people have claimed that they have felt the presence of Abraham Lincoln in this room. Winston Churchill claims to have seen Lincoln. Ronald Reagan’s dog would bark outside the room but would not enter. There are many people who work at the White House who will not enter the room and some have claimed to have seen Lincoln’s ghost.

Is in indeed a historical room. I did not know it was Lincoln’s office until you posted that fact on your blog.
It is a shame that the Clinton’s turned this room into a money making “hotel” during their administration.
Imagine how much Hillary will make off this room if she gets back into the White House.
For than matter, I am sure Obama will do the same thing. It is scary how far down our country has sunk./b>
