Now that the confiscate almost everything before you get on an airplane these days, it seems that you would not be able to conceal a safety utility knife or shoes that are meant to be bombs. However, I wonder if it is as really as safe as it seems. In 2004, a student was able to smuggle on box cutters that were disassembled. I guess they didn’t really look like box cutters anymore. Of course, he was eventually caught and fined. Then, there have been issues with plastic knifes as well. Eventually, someone will find a loophole and soon we will have to fly naked without any luggage!
